PIPAVAV RAILWAY CORPORATION LIMITED REGISTERS 46 PER CENT OF GROWTH DURING FIRST HALF OF CURRENT FISCAL
Pipavav Railway Corporation Limited (PRCL), a joint sector company of the Ministry of Railways has earned traffic revenue of approximately Rs.70 crore during the first half of the fiscal 2011-12 i.e. from April 2011 to September 2011, registering a significant growth of 46 per cent compared to corresponding period of previous year and a net profit of Rs.17 crore (approx.). This half yearly unaudited financial results of the Company was presented to the new Company Chairman, and Member Traffic, Railway Board Shri K.K.Srivastava by Managing Director Shri Pankaj Malviya, at a meeting of the Board of Directors held here.
The meeting was attended to by Directors of the Company Shri Niraj Kumar, Shri K. Vinayak Rao, Shri Prakash Tulsiani, Shri Dinesh Kumar Lal, Shri Pradeep Puri and Shri Hariharan Iyer.
PRCL is the first flag-ship joint sector company of Ministry of Railways under public-private partnership. PRCL has constructed 270 kilometers broad gauge rail network line from APM Terminals, Pipavav to Surendranagar in Gujarat & operates and maintains it and has license to run container trains.
PRCL signed a Concession Agreement with Ministry of Railways for running container trains in a Signing Ceremony held on 4th January
2007 in the Rail Bhavan.
PRCL
run its 1st container trains from ACTL-Morbi (Gujarat) on 20th August 2009.
PRCL had successfully conducted trial run of Double Stack Container Trainer under wires from
Domestic Container Terminal, Okhla on 19th July 2007. The trial was conducted between Delhi-Mathura-Alwar-Gurgaon
carrying 8 Maruti Cars (4 each) in double stack formation (under electrified routes).
